Calf jackets — I have a love/hate relationship with them. I love that they help keep the teeny tiny future-of-the-farm members snuggly warm in the winter. But those same cute little faces turn into calf jacket monsters. I have various brands, various sizes, ones with buckles, ones with Velcro, ones with snaps — I have quite the mishmash variety of jackets. The only way I can keep a darn jacket on a calf is to zip tie the front and crisscross the leg straps. Those darn little buggers are really good at getting out of their jackets. Apparently, they don’t understand that it is actually helping them and keeping them warm in the frigid temperatures of winter. Much to my relief, it finally warmed up enough to announce to all of the little calf jacket-wearing monsters that they can officially remove them. I now have a mountain of jackets to wash, repair and pack away until next season. Calf jacket season is officially over!
