Parlor Talk Talkin'

Is anyone else trying to figure out how it’s December already? Maybe it’s because winter came so quickly. Here in Wisconsin, our first snowstorm of the year dropped 7 inches in our area. We didn’t get a chance to adjust to the white stuff, just full blown snowstorm right out of the gate.

Good thing we have our own in house meteorologist, and he takes his job pretty seriously. Usually, he is way too busy to hang out with me in the parlor, but I can always tell when we’re going to have a change in weather because he comes to visit anxiously. Amigo, our border collie, doesn’t take too much liking to cow sorting, but weather alert system is more his speed. He comes in the parlor and paces from side to side and doesn’t leave my side. And if there’s real bad weather coming, he hunkers down in the office under the desk.

He was on high alert and trying really hard to hard to get the attention of our milk tester as if to share his weather report. And wouldn’t you know, he was spot on. Wasn’t too long after his visit to the parlor that it started snowing.

No need to check the weather report, just ask our reliable weather source, Amigo. His job title has changed from calf supervisor to weather forecaster.
