Hope Creamery churned its first butter Dec. 22, 1919. At the time, the building was also used for 4-H meetings, community events, a dance hall and as a one-stop shop for farmers where they could get their feed, fuel and milk processed.

Hope Creamery butter is packaged in 1-pound blocks in Hope, Minnesota. The packaging stems from Friday boxes which allowed one to put the butter fresh off the churn into a metal or wooden box where it would later be hardened and cut into 1-pound blocks with a hand operated machine.
